We started our day by going to the beach at The Palms Resort. It was very relaxing. It's so nice to see Jacqui smiling and laughing again. We met up with some of her "former" colleagues for a few minutes, but we had to be back home for 2 pm as we were going with other teachers to the Friday market. The market is like a big, big, big flea market. If you can't find what you're looking for, you probably don't need it. They have everything, or just about : electronics, power tools, furniture, appliances, TV's, clothing, rugs, toys, fishing gear, "dust collectors", and more. We got back around 6 and headed out to dinner in Faraheel, a neighbourghood south of us. Five of us went to an Indian restaurant; it was good but Jacqui's not a big fan of Indian food. After dinner, one of the ladies had to get two pairs of shoes repaired. So she dropped them off at a shoe place, ... and that was it. No receipt, no nothing. Just pick them up tomorrow. "But how will they know which shoes are mine" she asked. The answer : "Black plastic bag". Of course, how else! We don't work that way in North America!
While in transit from home to the market, we drove by a Bentley continental, worth approximately 75 000 KD (according to our driver). Since a KD is worth about $ 3.50, that would make that car worth over $ 335 000. Yes, it did look nice, but probably doesn't handle to well in snow, so we'll pass.
We got back around 10, and went straight to bed, which explains why this article of the blog is one day late.
