October 13 - 15: Weekend in Luang Prabang, Laos

Friday the 13th was a holiday so we took a morning flight from Bangkok to Luang Prabang, Laos. Our hotel was amazing, and so was the city. We spent Friday just walking around our neighbourhood, located between the Mekong River and the Nam Khan River. The architecture was quite impressive; it looked a lot like Europe - there was a big French influence at one point in time. We had dinner in a restaurant that overlooked a pond; it was pretty nice!
Saturday was spent checking out the small boutiques; there is a lot of arts and crafts around: pottery, weaving, ... they have a lot of beautiful stuff! We went up Mount Phousi (150 meters) to watch the sunset and visited the temple that was there at the same time.
On Sunday, we took a tour to the Kuang Si Falls: a very beautiful place. An easy walk, and beautiful waterfalls. It was quite impressive.

Our dinner table is maybe one meter away from this pond!

They must have known we were coming!!!
