We visited Petra today. It was unbelievable. Jacqui, Julie and I were trying to figure where and when
we had seen something more impressive in the world, and none of us had an
answer. It was like going back in time, as soon as you started walking into the
canyon. You could just feel the Nabataeans on their horses, more than 2500
years ago, or the romans driving in with their chariots in the early years AD.
The "buildings" built in the rocks and the amount of detail that it had
must have been really impressive back then, because it still is today. You can
get an idea of Petra by looking at the pictures below, but you might also want
to watch "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom"; it was filmed (parts
of) in Petra. We were really looking forward to this day, and our expectations were high, but it exceeded those by a mile. It was an amazing day, so worth the trip. Enjoy the pics!
